  • Aquarius - 21st January- 18th February
Star-stone: Turquoise
 
Turquoise stones are often found, and mined in Australia, South America, Iran and Tibet. It ranges in colour from sky blue to green and has many mystical properties. It was said to help prevent falling from horses, and when fixed to a bow would ensure arrows would always hit their target. In modern times the stone has also been linked to happiness and good fortune.
  • Pisces - 19th February - 20th March
 Star-stone: Moonstone
As well as a stone linked to the Pisces zodiac sign, it is also the gem that represents the 3rd year of marriage. It is a stone strongly linked to emotional well being and inner calm. In a physical sense Moonstone is said to balance hormones, aid the digestive system, and reduce ageing conditions in the hair, teeth and skin.
  • Aries - 21st March - 20th April
Star-stone: Diamond
 
This is the gem most closely related to Aries, and its ruling planet of Mars. Not to be confused with a birthstone, said to relate to the month someone is born, rather than the star sign. Wearing the diamond is said to provide balance, clarity, and abundance in the wearer’s life. It is also said to increase inner strength and enhance relationships. Some also believe the stone has healing properties relating to brain diseases and drawing out toxins from the body.
 
  • Taurus - 21st April - 21st May
Star-stone: Emerald
Emerald is the gem most closely related to Taurus and its ruling planet of Venus. It has often been seen as the most prized of gems, especially in its purest and rarest form. In folklore, the emerald is said to cure poor eyesight and IQ, and enable wearers to predict the future.
 
  • Gemini - 22nd May - 21st June
Star-stone: Agate
Pearls and Moonstone have been related to Gemini’s but this link is associated with the month of birth rather than the star sign. Moss Agate is seen as the star-stone for Gemini.  Wearers are said to obtain relief from depression and more finely tuned thoughts.
  • Cancer - 22nd June - 22nd July
Star-stone: Pearl
The pearl is an object that takes on many different and shimmery shades of silver and white from the shell in which it grows.
With the ruling planet of Cancer being the Moon, it’s no surprise the pearl has been linked to this star sign. Wearing pearls can be a symbol of purity, or a happy marriage.

Star-stone: Ruby

The Ruby is one of the rarest and most beautiful star-stones. The wearer of a Ruby is said to be protected from misfortune, with the powers increasing if the Ruby is set in jewellery.
 
  • Virgo - 24th August - 22nd September
Star-stone: Sardonyx
Sardonyx is a member of the quartz family which comes in a wide variety of colours. There has been little written about its properties in relation to the zodiac, but those that believe in crystals as an aid for well being use and sell Sardonyx. It is known in these circles to increase stamina and self confidence, and thus giving the wearer an optimistic view of life.
  • Libra - 23rd September - 23rd October
Star-stone: Sapphire
 
A sapphire is considered to be one of the luckiest star stones, unless you are unfaithful in a relationship. Legend has it that a Sapphire losing its shimmer indicates impurity. Legends also state that Sapphires were prized tools for ancient priests when they were predicting the future.
  • Scorpio - 24th October - 22 November
Star-stone: Opal
One of the enduring myths surrounding this stone is that anyone other than a Scorpio wearing it will receive bad luck. This myth was started by Sir Walter Scott in his novel Anne of Gierstein. Opals are also popular in so-called rituals and spells, with different colours said to prevent anything from hair losing its colour to bad dreams. The Opal has also been recognised as a symbol of faithfulness and confidence.
  • Sagittarius - 23rd November - 21st December
Star-stone: Topaz
 
Legend has it that the Topaz stone has the widest ranging powers of all the star-stones. It was said to give the Greeks strength and relief from ailments such as asthma and insomnia. If a Topaz stone changed colour then it was also said to indicate poison.
  • Capricorn - 22nd December - 20th January
Star-stone: Black Onyx
The Black Onyx belongs to the Agate family of stones and is said to have good medical and metaphysical applications.
It’s said to be useful in the treatment of bone marrow and blood disorders, and also ear problems. This stone is also said to give strength, stamina, and self control with regards to sex.
